| Blackpepper (or Jason as we now know him) has become a firm favourite with team RECKNO. He has no prejudice against any form of music and you are just as likely to tread on his toes while checking out Noxagt or at an evening of improvised electro. It is this mindset that seeps through into his own music - while restless, surprising and loaded with detail it is never hard to listen to; there is no such thing as a typical Blackpepper track, the only formula is there is no formula. In the space of one song you may find heart renching melodies, junglist breaks, snatches of field recordings, bloops, blips, random talking, glitches, fizz, drone and even a slap bass solo. | All processed at the speed of thought to encourage your brain to dance as well as your feet. Jason currently records for Dirty Demos, a small but perfectly formed label that deals in lovingly packaged CDR's and vinyl. The label is run by a gentleman called Adam aka Deadwood and a Blackpepper 7" has been promised for what seems like forever - apparently it is very near to being ready. In the meantime get Disabled Algerbra on 3" and play every night before bed. We love Blackpepper. |
