Little Boat

Little Boat

It's rare to find such a brilliant yet introverted performer as Little Boat. He gently steps on stage while the audience is still digesting the last band, connects all his plugs, pedals & sockets and slowly taps away at his guitar as the amp behind him breaks out in tiny ticks and clunks. Before the audience realises that someone is even behind them they are unwittingly engulfed in a gentle swelter of rhythms, like fog creeping up the shore. Then there starts the appreciation - the one man band multiplied like a kaliedacope by resampling.

A few ears prick up at a tune they recognise but never imagined covered (Aphex Twin's Flim) and the curious close in on the figure sat on stage. So the snowball continues and by the end of the set people are climbing over each over just to get a glimpse of him over the music and layers cascading throughout the venue. Little Boat was such a hit that first night that he was the first person we rang when Shock Shock Horror had to pull out hours before RECKNO Two.
