Reckno 11 with Krayon; Monday 28th of June @ 60 million postcardsSunday, 13th June 2010
| HIGH WOLF - High Wolf makes music like no one else on the planet. He claims to be from the Amazon and all his activities are shrouded in mystery. Sometimes he is just one man, other times High Wolf is a duo. In either case he conjours mystic tropical clouds of repetition and build that, while complex, are never hard to listen to. The music seems to tap into a primal frequency and demands listeners to dance. A contemporary of James Ferraro, Oneohtrix Point never and Ducktails. He has records and tapes out on loads of ultra hip labels like Not Not Fun (the people who put out records by Sun Araw, OPN and Pocahaunted) and Krayon. This is a big deal for any fans of the new Pop music and massively rare treat for Bournemouth. Don't miss out! ANANAS PYRAMIDALIS - Previously known as 'The Music of Alan James Read' or 'The Dogfrog Drone Orchestra', this man makes truly beautiful music. Tuvan throat singing sung through a primitive sampling keyboard and sculpted into tunes, melodies are then picked out and played through a tape delay system which starts to drift and blur the sound into new shapes and patterns. Like looking at the reflection of a waterfall through a shattered mirror, always the same yet constantly shifting, a proper ocean of sound. YAAARD - Singing love songs to the sky through a cheap delay pedal while the infinite loops stagger from a crumbling laptop. It's the fast slow stuff. Beautiful music will be played from 8pm. Musicians start at 9. FREE entry. [Krayon Recordings] - High Wolf, Ananas Pyramidalis, Yaaard | ![]() |

Reckno Ten at the KUBE Gallery; 12th December 2009Monday, 2nd November 2009
| The 10th night of recreational noise is going to be a bit special. This one is taking place at The Kube gallery and we will have some interesting things going on as well as the music. More details on this nearer the time! Performing live will be:
ALPINE LAGER - If John Carpenter's soundtrack to Precinct 13 was played through Kevin Shields' FX with the single minded mindset of La Monte Young, it would be something like the sound of Alpine Lager. Melancholy devotional jams for the discerning levitator. DOGFROG - Also known as 'The music of Alan James Read' or 'The Dogfrog Drone Orchestra', the Krayon recordings label boss makes truly beautiful music. Tuvan throat singing sung through a primitive sampling keyboard. Sweet melodies picked out and played through a tape delay system which drifts and blurs the sound into new shapes and patterns. Like looking at the reflection of a waterfall through a shattered mirror. MYLAR BLACKOUT - Field recordings from the end of time. They state that their sound is 'Ambient', but this is a heavy ambient, utilising loud volume, digital processing and the dark arts. For a point of reference think Japanese noise artist Merzbow. True outsider noise art. YAAARD - Singing love songs to the sky through a cheap delay pedal while the infinite loops stagger from a crumbling laptop. DJ's and visual stuff TBC. Alpine Lager, Ananas Pyramidalis, The Mylar Blackout, Yaaard | ![]() |
